Help and FAQ

Searching for property

How do I search for a property?

On the home page, choose whether you want to rent or buy, the type of property and the place. In the “Where” field you can pick one or more places, a whole municipality or a canton. In the results you can then filter by price, number of rooms and size.

Why are rooms counted in halves?

In Switzerland half rooms count too: a 3.5-room apartment has three full rooms and a smaller one, usually an eat-in kitchen or a dining area.

Does the rent include service charges?

In the results, rent is shown including service charges when the agency provides them. On the listing page you’ll find net rent and charges shown separately.

Saved listings

How do I save a listing?

Click the heart on the photo or on the listing page. Saved listings appear on the home page, under “My favourites”.

Do I need an account to save listings?

Yes. Click the heart and create a free account or sign in: favourites are saved to your account and available on all your devices. You can keep up to 200 favourites and 50 searches and view enquiries sent while signed in.

A saved listing says “No longer available”: what does it mean?

The agency has removed it, usually because the property has been rented or sold. You can remove it from your favourites with the heart.

Contacting an agency

How do I contact the agency behind a listing?

On the listing page, use “Message agency” to send them a message, or “Show number” to see their phone number. Your message goes straight to the agency, who will reply to you.

Can Housenet give me information about a property?

No: Housenet publishes the agencies’ listings but doesn’t manage properties. For price, viewings and availability, contact the agency.

I’ve seen a wrong or suspicious listing
